Fishing Report – February 2nd

The last few days have been cloudy and the perch bite has tapered off some. When the sun comes out, the fish are still active and the bite is good. Fish deep mud, transitional areas.

The walleye bite, with the cloud cover, has been better. Fish the flats and deep gravel. There have been a fair number of limits and big fish being caught. After dark has been a good bite as well.

As far as lures go, the Lindy Frostee Spoon in Firetiger generated the best results. The Rattlin’ Flyer is a go-to and still is working great for perch. The Ice Worm worked on the perch as well, even though the cloud cover slowed down the bite, this lure worked for a few bites at least.

Fishing Report – January 13th

Overall, the bite has been pretty solid. The lake has “opened up” as far as where you can go. We have safe ice (finally), but you do need to pay attention and watch for cracks. We did have to bridge a crack this weekend. There are roads now to the gravel and the mud – fishing has improved since there are more spots that are accessible.

Perch bite has been good on the shoreline breaks, in the holes and in the soft mud areas.

There have been a few limits of walleye as well but mostly larger ones.

We are still recommending the Lindy Rattlin’ Flyer with larva which is very efficient on the perch. For walleye, use a little bigger hook and minnow heads and fish top edges of dep gravel…

Fishing Report – January 26, 2012

Last few days bite has been good – it warmed up some, mainly perch and some walleye. If you can move around and cover ground there are a lot of big schools of perch out there – any transition areas, any deep mud breaks, along shorelines where it goes to the basin along the edges. Walleye are out in deeper areas but not to deep, mostly they will bite at 14-22″ depth mainly at night – not much for a day bite at all.

We finally have lots of ice, we have a road to Hennepin and a goat trail to the Gravel.

We are using larva for perch using frostees and rattlin’ flyers as well as some of the new Lindy Tackle. Try downsizing to a smaller pan fish type lure using some of the new Lindy Tackle – Ice Worms, Fat Boy, Toad, use a couple of larva and beat the bottom a little bit, lift it up and watch it disappear.

Fishing Report – January 12, 2012

Finally! Another Fishing Report…..Mike has been getting limits of perch on his guide trips…in the last week, he cleaned almost 200 perch! The ice in the bay is 13-15″ and we are allowing half ton vehicles – pulling wheel houses is okay. We are going to be asking people stay in the bay this weekend but next week we will likely allow traffic outside the bay. Wheelers to the gravel are okay – the ice is anywhere from 10-12 inches. Since there is still open water on the north end of the lake, we want the cracks to heal before traffic gets out there, the wind can still shift things around out there. For more, please listen to today’s audio report.

Fishing Report – 1/4/12

With the wind a few days ago, we moved our houses to the bay – the upside to that is the bite has been great. Guests are catching sunnies, bluegills, perch, walleye and northern. It has been consistent. If you move around some, you will do better…we are seeing daily limits of perch mixed with a few walleye. Still no heavy vehicles and we are allowing our guests to drive light vehicles only. We will keep you posted on driving. Fishing Report – 12/28/11

The Ice Conditions on Mille Lacs have scared quite a few people away but the ice on our bay is 13+ inches and we have all our wheel houses out. Mike is on a guide trip today and they have their limit of perch (80 total) and are still trying for their walleye limit. Anglers are using Rattlin’ Flyer Spoons with Euro Larva (multi-colored), Genz Bugs and Worms are also working. The Lindy Fishing Report isn’t updating at this time, we will post when it is up and running. We’ll also get pictures out of the perch catch today. Happy Holidays!

Fishing Report – 12/17/11

We finally put a couple houses out on the bay, the ice is about 10″ consistently. We aren’t allowing any vehicles other than ATVs at this time. Mike was out yesterday and had a good number of jumbo perch. They caught a few walleye as well. Sunnys have also been biting closer to shore…we are looking forward to a great winter. Stay tuned for more posts and be sure to visit www.lindyfishingtackle.com for the national audio reports. You will find Mike’s report on the Minnesota Page. Thanks – we’ll be back online at least weekly now with updates!

Fishing Report – August 21

The bite has been inconsistent lately – if the wind blows, fish shallow.  In 5′-15′ depths, you can catch 15-20 fish a day, mainly keepers with some larger fish mixed in. Use 32 oz jig with orange, chartreuse, and reds – use crawlers or leeches.

There is a cranking bite going on as well. When its a light wind or calm, you can slide off in the 12′-14′ range. If it is windy, fish 8′-10′ feet which will work for the bobber bite as well.

There is also a good lead core bite out deeper – NE sand, north sand, north mud and the middle of nowhere, south of 9 mile. Just drive around until you mark fish and start running through them with different colors – every day has been different.

Fishing Report – Thursday, August 11th

The trolling bite is going on with lead core in varying depths – 22′-35′ or 36′. Use the Perch color, shadling #5, river rockers #3 and #5. While Perch has been Mike’s best color, the blue and silver is working for people as well.

Each day is different right now, some days they are on the top, some days they are on the sides. Use a 20′ leader and troll 2 mph – 4 mph max.

The other bite going is shallow from 4′-12′ of water mainly when the wind is blowing or in the evening. The fish range in size from 14-16″ at these depths. Mike recommends a 32 oz jig.

Mike had 9 limits in a row these past couple weeks and is fishing the MTT tournament this weekend.

Fishing Report – August 4th

The last 4-5 days have been really good fishing. When wind is blowing, focus on fishing shallow rocks either using a slip bobber or pulling cranks. A couple days ago we had 16 keepers for a 4 person guide trip – a lot of other keepers…a few big ones as well including some nice bass.

When it’s calm, the lead core bite has been solid with nice keepers and a lot more quality fish as well.

For crank colors, use the perch imitators in smaller sizes.

For jigs, when Sunny use blue & silver, shiner imitators and since there are a lot of cray fish shallow, use anything with orange.
